Triple Victory in Italy!
Trippelseier til Damenes Aften i Italia!
In October 2007 the women’s choir Damenes Aften from Hamar and conductor Erland Dalen could celebrate victories in three categories in International Choir Competition, Riva del Garda in Italy. Damenes Aften went all the way to the top, and received 1st place and gold diplomas in the three classes Folk music, Religious music and Pop/modern.
37 choirs from 18 countries participated, and of all the competing choirs, Damenes Aften achieved the third highest score. There are bronze, silver and gold diplomas being awarded. In the class Religious music the choir achieved 27.85 of 30 points possible in Ireland
Successful in Ireland too
Damenes Aften, who celebrate their 15th anniversary this year (2007), has achieved high scores and positions in other international competitions as well. In the fall of 2005 the choir went all the way to the top at Sligo International Choral Festival in Ireland, and they also achieved two 2nd places in that same competition.
